Abstract
The tap changer setting on the transformer is very influential in optimizing the voltage drop in order to realize the electric power system at PLTU Timor 1 because the electrical energy system in Timor currently has 2 x 50 MW generators and the peak load reaches 90,250 kW. Power losses can cause damage if they occur continuously. Therefore, calculations are carried out using load flow simulation on ETAP by determining the tap changer on the existing transformer so that the voltage drop on each busbar does not exceed the predetermined Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) standard of 2.0%. When the tap changer on the transformer has not been regulated or is still at 0%, the voltage drop on each busbar can reach 3.22% - 7.29% which has exceeded the predetermined standard limit. Then when
the load flow simulation is carried out, the tap changer setting is reduced by -2.5% for each transformer that has a voltage drop that exceeds the standard. From the results of the reduction to the tap changer setting, the optimal voltage drop on each busbar of 0.57% - 2.05% still meets the predetermined THD standard
