Abstract

Trtrcks or clump trttcks are heavy equipment that serves to transport or motte
mctterials oter mediunt to long distances. Dump Trttcks are canlmonly u,sed to
tronspot't rtarw'al muterials such cts soil, sand, split stone, and also processed
rnaterials such os dtt'concrete in construclion projects. Generally, the material is
loadetl ott a clrunp n'uck bt a loading device such as an excavator, backhoe or loader.
Ihis stuth lrus aptn'pose. to detertnine the reldingntethod and poranteters, calculate
the loacl cnd capacit) o_f rhe back dwnp truck. anall,ze the strength of the GMAW
telded joint on the back duntp truck. The research method ttsed is tensile and
banding testing which refers to ASTLI EB, butt joint welded joints on ss 100 plates
are carried oln by the GMAWwelding method, tests of welded joints on ss 100 plates
use Tensile Test equipment and bending tests that refer to ASTM EB standards. The
results show, the capacity of the back dump truck is 25.9 m"3 The strength of the
back dump truck welded connection is .for the bending stress that can be accepted at
the back dump truck welded connection i.s 4.BB Nm, the terusile strength is 466
N/[mm]^2 , yield load is 37780 l'[ and for bending strength 515 N/[mm]^2, the
bending angle is 117
